SHUTTING DOWN MATCH

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, BOY AND GIRLS, MATCH IS OVER 

It's been two months of sheer delight, as you know, but it is time to bid Match.com adieu. I got a deal on the first month via Living Social, however this most recent month I did pay the full subscription fee.

Farewell Match.com! It's been... amusing.

STATS AND NUMBERS 

You know I love me some stats and numbers! Let's see now, in the last two months I met 6 men in person, and 5 out of the 6 sucked. I went on a total of 10 dates, most of which also sucked.

In this time, my profile was viewed 9,697 times. In my last week, I received yet another status report. Let's check it out:  

So, do these "report cards" mean I got an A? What's the baseline here? How do I know how well I've done?

 
Alright, I'm keeping track of the numbers here, so let's add up all of the "men who have shown interest" in me over the last two months:
196 + 68 + 53 + 73 = 390 MEN.

Fascinating. Out of 390 men, I've only really enjoyed the company of one.

Haha, please, don't be stupid. I'm not quitting Match.com because I think I've found the one or that the Nemesis is my Prince Charming, or, rather, my Prince Batman. He could be, but I don't know that just yet.

I'm shutting down Match because I don't see much time in the next 1-2 months for dating a bunch of random dudes so I certainly don't want to keep paying full price!

Dear Diary: I've decided that paying full price to meet a bunch of losers is actually a bad idea.

SO WHAT'S NEXT? 

Don't you worry now. I didn't quit Match without first securing a Date Seven. ETA is about 2 weeks.

THE EXPERIMENT CONTINUES! 

I said I wasn't willing to pay full price for this shenanigans. If it's free though, then why not!? I won't be getting any new messages from Match but I can get them from elsewhere.

I've heard most normal people start off with the free dating sites, like Plenty Of Fish, then turn to paid sites, like Match.com. I have chosen to do it the other way around. Yes, let's use Match.com as the baseline in this experiment.

I've been told that many of the people who are on Match are also on POF, so I may be running into the same clowns, but at least this time I'll be running into them for free. I'll be sure to use the exact same profile wording and photos that I've used on Match.com, so that will be the controlled variable in this experiment. The only difference will be that members are using this site for free.

Hypotheses anyone?

I really need a proper place to run these experiments and examine my data.
