DATE THREE
DATE 3
The Bachelor. I’m not proud to admit this, but I did watch the most recent season of The Bachelor, with Sean Lowe. And this guy resembles him. So I’m calling him the Bachelor. I’m actually more excited about this one than I was with the previous two because physically, I like what I’m seeing.| How you doin'? |
Tall, blonde, blue eyes, nice build. Yes please. However, I’m also very skeptical because why does a man who resembles the Bachelor need to be on Match? What’s wrong with him? Let’s find out!
PRE DATE
He sends me a wink, and I don’t really know what that means, but I feel like it’s the pansy way around messaging me; maybe the guy is hoping that if he winks at me, then I’ll take the initiative and email him first? But, whatever, this guy has a nice profile picture, so I click his profile and check him out. Not a whole lot in this profile, pretty straight to the point. The photos look good, he’s my age and is geographically desirable. Awesome! But I’m not going to be the first to send a message. That would be chasing, and I can’t do that because I’m a girl, right? (So I’ve been told.) So I just wink back, and that’s that.
He sends me a message about some nerd shit and says “If you’d like to get to know more about me, hit me back; if not, that’s cool too.”

Sure, I’d like to know more, so I write back and we exchange numbers. The conversation via text is pretty good- he’s using punctuation and proper spelling, so he’s already stacking up points for that. It’s very easy to talk to him, because we have similar interests in movies and comics and games, and a similar sense of humor. He’s telling me about his big family and he seems to have a good relationship with his family-- sounds like a decent guy to me.
At this point, I’m going back into my Match emails and checking for his profile to look at his pictures again—am I sure I’m talking to the right guy here? Good looking, my age, local, and has a personality!? Color me impressed.
THERE IT IS!
I knew there had to be something. This was working out all too well, something had to be wrong with him. He tells me he’s quitting his job at the end of the month to pursue his dream of trying to get into the entertainment business, specifically movies. No, not porn. (It could have been worse)

| Are you real? You can't be. Or, if you are real, then something must be seriously wrong with you. I'm concerned. |

Hey, listen; I understand the idea of wanting to pursue your dreams and being a go-getter. I understand the feeling of hating what you’re currently doing for a living and going after what makes you happy. I did that myself; however, I didn’t quit my job. I just kept trying to get the job I wanted, and now I have it, but there was never a time where I was unemployed.
So, what’s the plan? How are the bills going to be paid? Just going to quit your job, which by the way, sounds like a damn fine job—really boring, but still, a pretty decent job that pays well!- and hope that you can land a job in one of the hardest industries to break into ever!?
Ok, calm down. He seems like a smart guy, there has to be a back-up plan, right?
