DATE ONE PART II

THE ACTUAL DATE
I meet him near the beach at a little bar/restaurant after work on a Friday evening. He calls to tell me he’s running a little late and has been pulled over for speeding. Slow down there buddy, I’m not going anywhere. But I do appreciate the courtesy call to inform me that he’s running late.

He arrives, I see him on the street corner. Whoa, this guy is really short. I’m really short too, so whatever, that’s fine. I walk up to him and we have an awkward hug (too tight? Not tight enough? Too short, too long? Ugh who knows) and walk inside to have dinner. 

I order a fruity drink, he gets a beer. We get a good conversation goin; there’s no awkward silence, he tells me about how he would love to show me his artwork, and how we should totally go out again and do X,Y,Z activities together. He tells me about his family, what his parents do for a living, what it was like being in the service, etc. He said next time, we should hang out around his area. Great! Sounds fantastic.

After 2 hours, we get up and head outside. He walks me to my car, telling me how cute I am and that he wants to just pick me up. Then we get back to my car, have another awkward hug, but better than the initial hug, and take off. I text him about 10 min later, just to say “thanks for the dinner, I had a great time.” He texts back that he had a good time too and to drive safe.

Well that wasn't bad at all. Maybe this is gonna be alright!

OUTCOME
A few days go by and I hear nothing from Seacrest ever again. So I’m wondering, as one might imagine, what the actual hell?! He totally mentioned us hanging out again, right? Why would he say that if he didn’t want to go out again? I’m confused. 

By the following Wednesday, I decide I’ll text him. And I do. And he responds, “We should get dinner again, soon!” Alright! Fantastic! When? He says he’s not sure right now, but definitely soon, and he’ll let me know.

Well guess what? It’s been almost 3 weeks since our first date. Soon my ass.
