STATUS CHECK-ONE MONTH

TIME OUT
Let's pause for a moment and look at how I'm doing so far. It's been one month since I joined Match. I think it's a good time to take a look at some numbers and see what progress I have (or haven't) made.
Stop. Hammer time.

As of now, my profile has been viewed a total of 6,445 times, according to Match. 82 men have "liked" my photos and 75 have Favorited me, whatever the hell that means. (Is that subtle way of stalking me? I've no clue).

To date, I've received over 200 winks, and unfortunately that's where Match stops keeping track. Every time I look at the wink page, it always says 200 received, and yet there are new ones at the top, so I assume it just gets rid of the oldest ones and keeps a maximum of 200.

As for messages, my inbox says 265 total. That averages out to roughly 8 messages a day for the last month. And out of all this, I've gone on dates with 4 different men, for a total of 6 dates. 6 dates that left much to be desired.
I've been dealt the wrong cards; can I have a new deck, preferably a less crappy one? Thanks!

So I tried the new approach, I got that hot guy's phone number and I texted him. Well, it's been hours and no response. That totally makes sense. He was all Quick-Draw McGraw, giving me his number in the first message, but now nothing. I don't know how to interpret this. Future me says I better get used to this type of behavior.

GUESS WHO JUST WON'T GO AWAY
A guy I dated years ago found me on Match and has been quite persistent. He's winked, Favorited me and he's sent multiple emails asking me out. Specifically offering to take me out for a drink and then to see the new Fast and Furious movie. And you know how much I LOVE Fast and Furious.

Bruh. It didn't work a few years ago, it won't work now, why waste time?! Desperate much?

BUT GUESS WHO IS BACK
I miss your absence.

If you guessed The Bachelor, well, good for you. You get nothing.

He's back from his weekend back home and he's sent me messages to let me know that he still owes me for that wallet-less date. Do I give him a THIRD date? Well, he's the best one so far out of the handful I've dated or interacted with (sad, so sad), so what the hell. I'm sure if nothing else, I'll get another fantastic experience to post about.

I think the main point here is that my experience with Match has been Quantity over Quality. And if I wanted that I didn't have to go online and pay for it!
