NEW APPROACH

CAUSE THE CURRENT ONE SUCKS

Ok, for the first month on Match, I didn’t actually make any type of effort. I just sat back and let the messages and winks roll in. But frankly, I’m either just way too picky or my profile is drawing in the wrong type of attention (refer to all of my previous posts). And now that I’m approaching the second month, I’m no longer at the $15 rate. I’m paying the full price, so now I’m going to start looking for what I want instead of just letting these gems come to me.

Yep, just sittin' back, letting the men come to me. None of them are Batman unfortunately.

I get these emails from Match telling me how I’m doing and yet none of the men I’ve talked to who are on Match seem to get these. Anyway, Match says I’m having a great week; but really, how great of a week am I having? (again, refer to all of my previous posts)

“Quantity over quality” is what this message translates to.

SEARCH FUNCTION, SEARCH FUNCTION FIND ME A MAN
Ok, I put in my criteria, including a 20 mile radius of my zip code (since I have such issues with driving and getting lost and becoming trapped in gridlock traffic), so let’s see what I get! Oh, wow 1,017 men have been found who meet my criteria. Off to a fabulous start! I’m excited, because now I get to pick!

I’m at 12 pages in to my search results now and I’m still being picky. It’s been an hour and I’ve found 2 that tickle my fancy so far. Two.

Ugh. This is hard.

Now I understand what the guys were talking about. You read a bunch of profiles and scan through a bunch of photos and then if you decide to try messaging one, you have to actually think of something to say. And it’s a lot more difficult than it seems! I don’t want to sit here thinking of something clever to say for 20 minutes when there’s a good chance I won’t even get a response! And, now all of these men know I’ve looked at their profile. I'm not sure if that bothers me or not.

THE PANSY APPROACH
Messaging is too difficult and time consuming right now, so I’m going to go with the pansy approach of “winking” which I had previously mocked others for using. Yes, I am a hypocrite, I realize this. But if Plan A isn't working, then you've gotta go to Plan B, even if it does make you a little girl.

I won’t be needing these after all, so I’ll just leave them right over here.

So I winked at 6 people in about an hour, and within an hour I received messages from two of them. Two out of six ain’t bad, especially in ONE HOUR. That's a 33% response rate in an hour! Alright, off to a good start!

OH CRAP, THE PANSY APPROACH APPEARS TO BE WORKING
I winked at a hot guy, who lives within that 20 miles radius, went to the same college as me, and appears to be able to spell correctly- homebody already messaged me his phone number! Whaaattt? Is this normal? Is this desperation on his part? Is this a Match style booty call? What the hell is going on here?! I don’t know, but I like it!

Screw sitting back and waiting for guys to come to me! This new approach is awesome! Now, I know, previously I had stated that I wouldn’t chase boys on here, but I’m only winking first, not messaging. So, that doesn't....count....right? 

Well, regardless of what it is, let’s just say I’m doing it for the purpose of this blog and this goddamn experiment. How is one to know how the other approach works if one doesn’t try it? See what I did there? Justified.
